Forget anything and everything you may have heard about Ballybunion's "New" Course, the Cashen, a course that has stirred the passions one way or the other from about everyone who has ever visited this storied club. Admittedly, it was a bit rough around the edges when it first opened, and exceedingly difficult. Never though could anyone argue that it wasn't extraordinarily spectacular! Time has softened the rough edges though, and certain holes have been improved exponentially, and the result is a course that in our estimation is, at worst, top 10 in Ireland, and at best one of the most elite tests. Take this layout and put it 10 miles down the road in Ballyheighe, and people would beat a path to its door. Rarely do pictures do justice to a course, but those to your left certainly come close! If you come to Ballybunion and don't play the Cashen, you are missing out!
