Sotogrande
Sotogrande Highlights
Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is widely regarded as one of Robert Trent Jones Sr.’s true masterpieces. In fact, among the more than 500 courses he designed worldwide, Jones himself named Sotogrande as one of his five favorites in his book Golf: Magnificent Challenge (1988).
Inaugurated in 1964, Sotogrande was Trent Jones’ first course in Europe, and it beautifully showcases his design philosophy—layouts that blend seamlessly into the natural landscape while offering a formidable test for elite players and an enjoyable experience for all.
The course’s quality is reflected in its distinguished roll call of champions, including Seve Ballesteros, José María Olazábal, Roberto De Vicenzo, Sergio García, Pádraig Harrington, and Rory McIlroy—a testament to its enduring place among Spain’s finest golfing venues.
