Welcome to Pinheirinho Golf Course, an 18-hole gem set within the breathtaking landscapes of Comporta on Portugal’s Alentejo coast. More than just a round of golf, the course offers an immersive experience deeply connected to the region’s natural beauty, providing both challenge and serenity. Located just a short drive from Lisbon, Pinheirinho is the perfect retreat for locals and international visitors seeking tranquility and a true escape into nature.

“The soil across the site is sandy,” explains architect Santana da Silva. “This allowed us to create large bunkers and waste areas without excessive costs, while integrating them seamlessly into the strategy and beauty of the course, and respecting the natural landscape. Wherever shaping was necessary, we capped it with existing topsoil rich in native seeds to preserve the natural vegetation.”

Several lakes have been introduced, four of which come into play across the 18 holes scheduled to open in 2024. By 2022, Santana da Silva returned to find a course that had matured beautifully, with tees embraced by dune vegetation and fairways blending effortlessly with the surrounding landscape. The result is a links-style journey that feels both natural and thoughtfully crafted, delivering a memorable experience from tee to green.
