Set just inland from the Mediterranean and routed through a dramatic Andalusian valley, Finca Cortesin has quickly become one of Spain’s modern golfing showpieces. On a coastline boasting more than 50 courses, any new layout must be exceptional to stand out—and since opening in 2007, Cortesin has done exactly that, attracting acclaim from golfers across Europe and beyond.

Designed by Cabell Robinson, the championship course stretches to nearly 7,000 metres, with a design philosophy centered on making every hole worthy of tournament play. With no surrounding development, the course feels wonderfully pure and secluded, allowing the natural beauty of the valley to frame the experience. Memorable highlights include the par-five 3rd, played over water, the elevated par-three 10th with sweeping mountain views, and the thrilling double-dogleg 11th.

Its stature on the world stage was confirmed when Finca Cortesin hosted the 2023 Solheim Cup, cementing its reputation as one of Europe’s premier golf destinations—and a must-play when touring Spain’s Costa del Sol.
