Other Golf Destinations

The British Isles are not the only place to find the world’s finest links and most historic golf courses. We have scoured the earth in search of both ancient and modern venues that are the essence of the countries that they are located in. From north to south, east to west, you will be amazed by the quality and uniqueness of these supreme tests of golf. They include places that do not at all leap to mind when you think about golf—but how can you ignore Iceland, a place settled by a Viking named “InGOLFur?” The country is mad about the game. The British took golf with them during the peak of the British Empire, and who could resist playing amongst tigers and ancient mogul ruins in India? Australia is home to no less than 5 of the world’s greatest courses, and has the single greatest cluster of golf courses outside of the British Isles and the United States, in the famous sandbelt near Melbourne. El Saler in Spain and Paraparaumu Beach in New Zealand are true links courses that more than measure up to their counterparts in Scotland and Ireland. The snow-capped peaks of Alberta in North America and Patagonia in South America have layouts that can be called the most scenic inland courses on Earth. For many, some of the world’s greatest links courses lie hidden at home in the United States, on the remote Oregon coast, Bandon Dunes and Pacific Dunes. And of course, no one’s golfing career is complete without a pilgrimage to Pebble Beach and the glorious Monterey Peninsula. Browse our links and be astounded by what you will find!
